Wanderlust Careers is currently hiring for a part-time, Resume Writer!
This is not a traditional writing role—we’re looking for an altruistic, tech-savvy person who is interested in how psychology, creative writing, and strategy can improve peoples’ lives. Wanderlust Careers offers Career Coaching, Career Assessment, and Resume Writing with online testing and one-on-one sessions with top-of-the-line Career Coaches.
This position is for someone who wants to utilize their writing/editing skills in a social enterprise with a mission to help others. Our ideal candidate is: organized, warm, empowering, hungry, creative, and independent.
If you're a great writer, a go-getter, and want to earn a living by improving the lives of others, you could be the one!
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but Are Not Limited To)
Perform 30-minute resume editing sessions via phone (to assess client goals, develop strategy, ask clarifying questions about work history, educate the client, provide recommendations, etc.)
Review client data and utilize it to create new resume content
Collaborate with team members (e.g., resume writers, client’s Career Coach, and/or consulting psychologists) and client via Google docs to edit resumes and cover letters until they are picture-perfect!
Communicate regularly with the Head of Writing
CANDIDATE PREFERENCES
Current master- and doctoral-level creative writing students are encouraged to apply!
Previous tutoring, mentoring, teaching, and/or lecturing experience is a plus!

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but Are Not Limited To)
Collaborate with clients to develop career goals, action plans, and timelines
Utilize counseling skills to assist clients to explore career indecision blocks, anxieties, barriers to change, etc.
Work with clients to identify companies of interest, diversify job search strategies, leverage and expand existing networks effectively, collaborate with recruiters, etc.
Conduct 45-minute weekly sessions with clients who are trying to improve their work lives, network, job search, build confidence, increase personal fulfillment, etc.
Train in and conduct career assessment to include interview sessions, data analysis, and creation of a final written assessment report.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a student seeking a master-or doctoral level degree in social work, counseling psychology, or clinical psychology

About the Role
Wanderlust Careers provides high-quality Career Coaching, Career Testing, and Professional Writing Services led by a team of exceptionally bright and accomplished master's and doctoral-level Career Coaches. All of our coaches bring MA- or Ph.D.- level expertise in counseling, psychology, or social work, ensuring clients receive both strategic and compassionate support in their career journeys.
If you’re a master’s or doctoral-level clinician with a background in mental health and are looking to shift your focus from therapy to coaching, this may be a strong fit.
This is not a traditional counseling or coaching role—this is challenging and demanding work that involves working with clients who often face complex mental health issues. It requires a high level of emotional resilience, clinical skill, and attention to detail. We operate a highly structured, data-driven, and clinically supervised model, where consistency, accountability, and excellence are essential. While the work can be intense, it is also deeply meaningful and rewarding for those who are committed to making a real impact. Specific Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)
Maintain a caseload of 18-20 clients at all times; respond to new clients as they come into Slack as per company policy
Collaborate with clients to develop career goals, action plans, and timelines
Utilize counseling skills to assist clients to explore career indecision blocks, anxieties, barriers to change, etc.
Work with clients to identify companies of interest, diversify job search strategies, leverage and expand existing networks effectively, collaborate with recruiters, develop leadership skills, etc.
Conduct 45-minute weekly sessions with clients who are trying to improve their work lives, network, job search, build confidence, increase personal fulfillment, etc.
Take notes on each session on Google Doc and make them accessible to Client and Director of Clinical Services
Track Client sessions in Coaching Portal as per company policy
Attend weekly team huddles (Thursdays 1pm PST/4pm EST)
Attend monthly continuing education opportunities and quarterly meetings
Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Services on administrative duties (e.g., create and improve resources and coaching processes, reach out to re-engage former clients, report data on clients etc).
Note: this is a coaching only position (no Career Testing)
Qualifications
Must have a master-or doctoral level degree in social work, counseling psychology, or clinical psychology
Must have previous clinical experience and be comfortable working with clients with mental health diagnoses (depression, anxiety, BPD, etc.)
Must have a holistic approach to coaching, able to look at the larger picture of other services needed as well as the client’s goals within the scope of their lifestyle and salary requirements.
Candidate Preferences
Licensure in your state (Licensed Psychologist, LMSW, LCP, LMHC, etc.)
Personality is key—we are looking for someone to join our team of charismatic, yet incredibly hard-working and detail-oriented team members
Previous recruiting, human resources, business, consulting, or other corporate experience are a plus!
Available standard EST or PST hours (9:00AM-5:00PM). Open to discussion if you prefer evening and weekend hours.

Salary of $39,000, part-time (20 hours per week)
