Janet Najera is a Career Coach Intern, providing client-centered support through the Social Justice Program at Wanderlust Careers. Janet holds a masterβs degree in Social Work and has a comprehensive background in higher education, case management, rehabilitation programming and holistic well-being. Janet has worked with prospective, current, and non-traditional undergraduate and graduate students, mentored pre-graduation interns across multiple college programs within a university setting, and is a practitioner in supporting individuals from immigrant and historically underrepresented communities as they pursue their academic and professional goals in higher education.
As a first-generation college graduate, Janet is dedicated to creating accessible pathways to education and career development. Janet considers Aguascalientes, Mexico, her second home, an influence that has shaped her values and perspective. This connection to community, along with her lived experiences, has fostered an inclusive and empathetic style that creates a space where individuals from diverse backgrounds feel supported, valued, and heard.
Janet uses a strengths-based and empowering approach, helping individuals build self-efficacy, leadership, and professional fulfillment through guidance and support. She assists clients in navigating resources and opportunities to help them pursue their career goals with clarity and purpose.
