Associate Resume Writer (Part-Time)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Wanderlust Careers is currently hiring for a part-time, Resume Writer!

This is not a traditional writing role—we’re looking for an altruistic, tech-savvy person who is interested in how psychology, creative writing, and strategy can improve peoples’ lives. Wanderlust Careers offers Career Coaching, Career Assessment, and Resume Writing with online testing and one-on-one sessions with top-of-the-line Career Coaches.

This position is for someone who wants to utilize their writing/editing skills in a social enterprise with a mission to help others. Our ideal candidate is: organized, warm, empowering, hungry, creative, and independent.

If you're a great writer, a go-getter, and want to earn a living by improving the lives of others, you could be the one!

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but Are Not Limited To)

  • Perform 30-minute resume editing sessions via phone (to assess client goals, develop strategy, ask clarifying questions about work history, educate the client, provide recommendations, etc.)

  • Review client data and utilize it to create new resume content

  • Collaborate with team members (e.g., resume writers, client’s Career Coach, and/or consulting psychologists) and client via Google docs to edit resumes and cover letters until they are picture-perfect!

  • Communicate regularly with the Head of Writing

CANDIDATE PREFERENCES

  • Current master- and doctoral-level creative writing students are encouraged to apply!

  • Previous tutoring, mentoring, teaching, and/or lecturing experience is a plus!

  • The ability to think strategically and creatively to drive client outcome improvements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Data Analyst: Career Testing Specialist (Part-Time)

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is not a traditional counseling or coaching role—we’re looking for an altruistic, tech-savvy person who is interested in how data, technology, and psychology can improve peoples’ lives. Wanderlust Careers offers Career Coaching Services and Career Testing with clinically trained mental health professionals and Career Coaches.

This position is for a researcher who is familiar with mixed methods (quantitative and qualitative), and the psychometrics of psychological assessment who wants to utilize their skills in a social enterprise with a mission to help others. Our ideal candidate is: analytical, data-driven, confident, organized, warm, creative, and independent.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but Are Not Limited To)

• Conduct 45-minute Career Psychosocial Interviews with clients via video conference to collect data, review their career, social, educational, and work histories

• Review client Career Assessment data (Strong Interest Inventory, NEO-PI, MBTI, etc.)

• Write results of the assessment and providing career choice recommendations in clear, easy-to digest prose (5-8 pages in total per client).

• Conduct 45-minute result sessions with clients via video conference review their results, develop an action plan, and hand off client to their career coach

• Communicate with peers for feedback and Career Coaching team to hand off clients for long-term coaching

• Communicate with the Head of Coaching for supervision

• Note: this is a testing only position (short-term testing clients only)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a master-or doctoral level degree in social work, counseling psychology, clinical psychology, statistics, or related field

• Must have a strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods

• Must have a strong understanding of basic statistics and psychometrics of psychological assessment

CANDIDATE PREFERENCES

• This is a writing-heavy position—strong written communication skills are a must!

• This position requires creative and critical thinking to write a thoughtful, nuanced report for each client

• Previous coaching, counseling, psychotherapy, social work, mentoring, teaching and/or lecturing experience are a plus!

• The ability to think strategically and creatively to drive client outcome improvements

• Excellent communication skills
